About The Type-A Way
Type-A personalities get a lot of flack. People call us control freaks and tell us to calm down … when in reality we’re usually stressed because we feel totally out of control.
We’re all going to die one day, and it’s important to invest as much of the time we have on the important things — spending time with friends and family, pursuing our goals, traveling, enjoying our hobbies, and so on. It’s our goal to help you build an organizational foundation that automates or minimizes the necessary but less-rewarding parts of life so you can maximize your time and energy for what really matters.
We are the first company to specialize in working with Type-A personalities. We never try to change our clients’ Type-A ways; rather, we show you ways to maximize your strengths (like working well under pressure) and work around your weaknesses (like dealing with chronically disorganized people).
Because we’re Type-A, too, we can present you with tried-and-tested strategies and best practices that will satisfy your desires for detail and control, without leaving things open-ended like most other programs. For example, you’ve probably read articles about eating healthier that list tips like “eat more spinach.” How the heck do you eat more spinach? More spinach than what? How do I keep this up for the rest of my life? (We actually have an answer to this dilemma, but it took two months to develop; the author likely meant well, but didn’t consider the needs of a Type-A reader.) We never dish out general theories or tips, but rather provide step-by-step action plans that we’ve seen work time and time again.
The Type-A Way isn’t like other efficiency or productivity firms. While everyone should continually strive to improve themselves, we realize no one is — or even wants to be — a robot that wakes up at 5am on the dot 365 days a year and has their every moment planned out five years in advance. Paradoxically, the more organized you are, the more flexible you can be to meet life’s challenges, and that’s our goal for every client: to prepare you for any eventuality.

Company Name & History
The Type-A Way was founded in 2002 by Marina Martin, who has been an efficiency evangelist since birth. It was originally called Type-As, Inc. (as in the plural of Type-A) but enough clients began referring to Marina’s methods as “The Type-A Way” that she decided to rename the company.
